IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (IEEE – RAS), Bangalore Chapter was inaugurated on 12th September 2015 at IISc, Bangalore. The inauguration also had 2 invited talks. First was delivered by Dr. Shrikanth Rao, Fellow Engineer, Honeywell Technology Solutions, Bangalore. Second keynote was delivered by Prof. Ashitava Ghosal, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, IISc, Bangalore.

Future Events
We are aiming to organize following events in the next 10 years
- Organizing hands on workshops for engineering students and school students
- Membership drive to attract more volunteers for IEEE RAS
- Organizing summer camps on Robotics and relevant technologies
- Invited talks from national and international experts
- Conducting national level robotics competitions
- Organizing International Conference
- Bidding for well-known IEEE RAS conferences like ICRA, IROS etc to be hosted in India
