Brief History
IEEE DSCE student branch was started on 21st   Sept 2007 by Dr. P. Kulkarni, Dr. M. J Shanti Prasad and Dr. Kiran Gupta with aim of bringing awareness and to bring DSI under the international IEEE professional body umbrella. This has enhanced technical standards and global networking for engineering students. With the inspiration from international events and to encourage girl student and encouragement received from Bangalore section, Women-In-Engineering was also started and inaugurated on 22nd   May 2010.
Major achievements of the IEEE-DSCE students Branch

  1. DSI organized and Co-ordinated IEEE International Conference ICIMIA-2017
  2. Technical coordinators of International conference ICSE-13
  3. Received Best Student Branch award on Feb 2010 for the year 2009 amongst 45     Engineering colleges in Karnataka.
  4. Conducted major international events such as Asia Pacific GOLD Congress.
  5. Technical Co-ordinators of International conference ICSE-10.
  6. Conducted and co-ordinated National Conference NEC-2009.

Best Student Branch Award
The IEEE-DSCE students’ branch has been awarded as best IEEE Student branch award in Karnataka for the year 2010 for conducting the highest technical activities, discipline of students and best coordination by branch counselor. The competitors were 42 colleges from all over Karnataka. It is Laurels to the institute and the IEEE-DSCE student branch .This award carries cash prize of Rs.10, 000.00.

ANNUAL Technical EVENT- XPLORE-YY
 
Every year two days technical events are conducted with aim to network with all student branches of Karnataka and explore the technical strengths between peers by conducting various technical events. IEEE-DSCE student branch hosts the events with the support of management of DSI and under supervision of branch Counselor. Other faculty members from other branches also contribute by judging the various events and addressing the students session wise. External judges are also invited for paper presentations and project demo contests.
